Working With Children in Niger

Coronavirus (COVID-19) impact on World Vision operations

In support of public health recommendations outlined by the World Health Organization, some sponsorship program activities have been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19. Activities may include sponsor queries and correspondence, sponsor visits, gift notifications and gift deliveries. These temporary suspensions may affect the information you receive from us in the coming weeks and months. Learn more about our response to COVID-19.
When Ebola ravaged West Africa in 2015, World Vision Niger’s efforts turned to training and educating faith leaders. Using workshops called Channels of Hope, we reached religious leaders from all regions of Niger, training them to better convey the message of disease prevention among their faith communities.

Malnutrition is a constant challenge for children in Niger. Over a one-year period, more than 37,000 children suffering from acute malnutrition were admitted to rehabilitation centers supported by World Vision and nearly all recovered to a healthy weight for their age. We continue to improve households’ economic conditions and food security through saving groups and community food-grains banks.
