In support of public health recommendations outlined by the World Health Organization, some sponsorship program activities have been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19. Activities may include sponsor queries and correspondence, sponsor visits, gift notifications and gift deliveries. Children in Armenia face challenges in the areas of health care, education and child protection. To address maternal and child health, we developed video lessons to teach women about healthy pregnancy and newborn care. Moms receive information on pregnancy stages, nutrition, newborn care and pregnant women’s rights
World Vision Armenia partnered with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to train more than 1,100 young mothers and caregivers on early child stimulation skills and how to support their children’s development. And, to address child protection issues, we facilitated conversations that got adults, youths and children working together with government officials on ways to keep children in Armenia safe.
