Working With Children in Central African Republic

Coronavirus (COVID-19) impact on World Vision operations

In support of public health recommendations outlined by the World Health Organization, some sponsorship program activities have been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19. Activities may include sponsor queries and correspondence, sponsor visits, gift notifications and gift deliveries. These temporary suspensions may affect the information you receive from us in the coming weeks and months. Learn more about our response to COVID-19.
Central African Republic has faced decades-long political instability and occasional outbreaks of violence, resulting in a dire humanitarian situation for the country's roughly 5 million citizens. Ranked last on the UN’s Human Development Index, children in Central African Republic are particularly vulnerable to malnutrition, conflict and outbreaks of disease. A total of 2.3 million people are in need of assistance.

World Vision has been working in Central African Republic since 2014. In that time, we’ve reached over 150,000 people – mainly children – with life-saving food distribution, clean drinking water and safe spaces away from violence. We’re also been involved in identifying children who have become separated from their families and reuniting them with relatives.
